Radio Properties of Active Galaxies
Principal Investigator: Hayk ABRAHAMYAN
Period: 01.01.2016-31.12.2016
Project Summary
We plan to study morphology and variability of radio sources. For that we use NVSS and FIRST catalogues for cross-correlation. NVSS (Condon et al. 1998) contains 1,773,484 sources and FIRST (Helfand et al. 2015) contains 946,432 sources. For the preliminary results we have 556,282 identifications. For these sources we have made multiwavelength (MW) investigations in all wavelength ranges. An attempt to find a connection between the radiation fluxes in different bands for different types of sources, and identify their characteristics, and thus confirm the candidate AGNs. Having MW information we will achieve:
- Discovery of some 6000 variable radio sources at 1400 MHz;
- Understanding on the types of variable radio sources having optical variability;
- How radio variability depends on redshift;
- How radio variability depends on optical variability;
- How optical variability of these sources depend on redshift;
- Optical classification of some variable radio sources;
- Revision of some optical classifications having new spectra from SDSS;
- How radio variability depends on IR, UV, X-ray fluxes;
- Radio morphology;
- Online catalogue of variable radio sources.
